Guggenheim Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and The Museum of Modern Art. She is in the permanent collection of many museums including the Solomon R. ![]() Best known for her painted story quilts–art that combines painting, quilted fabric and storytelling–Faith has exhibited in major museums in the USA, Europe, South America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Internationally renowned artist, educator, and social activist, she began her artistic career in the 1960s as a painter. Faith Ringgold is Professor Emeritus at the University of California, San Diego, where she taught art from 1984 until 2002. ![]()
